Will your home insurance cover fireworks injuries and damage? Most home
insurance policies provide many different types of protection, and most policies
have different limits for various coverages under the policy. Also, there are
different types of events that trigger coverage. Unless fireworks are illegal
where you live (like SC fireworks in NC) and unless you purposely caused injury
or damage, then your Homeowners policy would most likely respond.
KEEP IT LEGAL
Keep it legal. the majority of injuries sustained from fireworks
results from illegal fireworks. Many NC residents will make a
pilgrimage to SC to purchase fireworks with more dramatic explosions
and displays. Of course, SC fireworks are illegal in NC,
unless you have the appropriate license and permit to discharge.
Avoid alcohol consumption or other substances that cause impairment
and always have a bucket of water nearby in case of an emergency. For
extra precaution, douse burned fireworks with water before discarding them.
